New Directives Affect O&G Industry in SK

Several new Directives that impact the oil and gas industry in Saskatchewan have come into effect in December 2019.

A revised version of Directive PNG017: Measurement Requirements for Oil and Gas Operations has come into effect as of December 20, 2019.  It includes the redefinition of FUEL, FLARE, VENT to support the implementation of OGEMR.  Bulletin BT 2019-15 contains a link to the revised Directive and to materials supporting its release.

Furthermore, Directive PNG036: Venting and Flaring Requirements has come into effect as of January 1, 2020. The Directive replaces Directive S-10: Saskatchewan Upstream Petroleum Industry Associated Gas Conservation with respect to venting and flaring requirements for oil and gas wells and facilities licensed in accordance with The Oil and Gas Conservation Act.  Bulletin BT 2019-16 contains a link to the Directive and to Guideline PNG035 that details how to estimate Venting and Fugitive Emissions.
